About Me
My name is Adam Stewart. I graduated from Oregon State University (OSU) with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with an applied focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI). Though I’m enthusiastic about AI, you may be surprised to learn that I am actually writing this cover letter myself! I’ve spent 10 years in software development so far. Just over a year ago, I moved to California to work on-site at the Googleplex. It has been a fantastic experience, and I'm loving the Bay Area so far!
Through my education at OSU and professional work experience, I have become very comfortable with object-oriented programming languages (Python, Java, C/C++), scripting languages (Bash), web development (JavaScript, React, Node, Express, Angular, TypeScript), and databases (MySQL, PL/SQL, NoSQL, PostgreSQL). Recently, I worked on a research paper titled “The Emotional Landscape of Aviation Pilots: Analysis of Online Professional Forums Using Natural Language Processing.” Our paper was submitted to the Journal of Aviation/Aerospace Education & Research for publication.
I just finished my contract with Google, where I co-founded a two-person team to create AI tools for Android Partner Engineering. As a result, we created an AI pipeline that increased the speed of Android validation from weeks to minutes with an average of 98% accuracy.
In my free time, I like to do a variety of things. If the day calls for something indoors, you’ll probably find me playing some sort of game on my computer with my friends. Weather permitting, I enjoy camping, snowboarding, longboarding, and listening to live music. Overall, I’m a proud computer nerd who always wants to learn more.
